Crowns and Bridges
A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps a tooth or dental implant. Your dentist may suggest a crown for a tooth that has been endodontically treated or where the tooth structure has been weakened by a large cavity.Crown can also be used to improve aesthetics.
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth and may be recommended to prevent remaining teeth around the gaps from tilting, moving or overerupting into the spaces. Both crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants and are fixed prosthesis.
Different materials can be used to fabricate a crown in a laboratory after the dentist has taken an impression of the prepared tooth. The crown is then bonded to tooth using a dental cement.
Type of material to be used and the associated costs can be determined after consulting with your dentist.
